Hi! I'm Ms. Natalie, the owner of Crafty Kids Preschool & Microschool! Our Microschool offers an exciting new approach to education that emphasizes the benefits of smaller class sizes and personalized learning experiences. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work with children! Before I opened my little school in 2020, I worked for the Federal Government for nearly 15 years. I started my career in Law Enforcement and later moved on to Security and Investigations. At the height of my career, I realized I was not the mother I always dreamt of being. Long days in a stressful career took a toll on me and my family. During the pandemic, I finally found the courage to quit my job and pursue my passion.
I’m a mom of three girls, have two degrees in Psychology, several certificates in Early Childhood Education, a licensed provider under the VA Dept. of Education, and have worked with children for over 25 years!
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy crafting, DIY projects, gardening, video games, reading, yoga, playing with all my pets, and spending as much time outside in nature soaking up the sun! And of course, I love doing all of these activities with my amazing family!
Our secular programs are educational and super fun, fostering an early love of learning. I truly believe children learn best through play while using all five senses to absorb knowledge. We make lots of fun messes while engaging in a fun activity-based and hands-on curriculum!
At Crafty Kids Preschool & Microschool, we are dedicated to providing a rich, engaging educational experience that empowers every child to reach their fullest potential. I am excited to help your child learn, grow, and thrive!

Our Microchool program is for children who are 2-12 years old (grades PreK-6).
Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that each child is a unique individual with their own set of strengths, interests, and learning styles. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive, nurturing environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. Our approach is guided by the following core principles:
1. Child-Centered Learning: We prioritize the needs and interests of each child, adapting our teaching methods to support their individual growth. Our small class sizes allow for personalized attention, ensuring that every student receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
2. Holistic Development: We believe in educating the whole child, balancing academic excellence with social, emotional, and physical development. Our curriculum integrates core subjects with arts, physical education, and social-emotional learning to cultivate well- rounded individuals.
3. Experiential Learning: Hands-on, experiential learning is at the heart of our educational approach. We encourage exploration and discovery through project-based learning, outdoor education, and real-world problem-solving activities that make learning engaging and meaningful.
4. Community and Collaboration: Building a strong sense of community is essential to our school. We foster a collaborative environment where students, teachers, and parents work together to create a supportive network. Our emphasis on teamwork and communication helps students develop important social skills and a sense of belonging.
5. Respect for Diversity: We celebrate diversity in all its forms and teach our students to appreciate and respect different perspectives and cultures. Our inclusive practices ensure that every child feels valued and understood, promoting an atmosphere of empathy and kindness.
6. Lifelong Learning: We strive to instill a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom. By encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and a growth mindset, we prepare our students to become adaptable, resilient learners who are ready to face the challenges of the future.
At the CKP Microschool, we are committed to providing a rich, engaging educational experience that empowers every child to reach their fullest potential. Our dedicated teachers, innovative curriculum, and supportive community work together to create a nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and grow.
